CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida - The Space Coast Energy Consortium has announced a renewable energy business competition for $100,000 jointly sponsored by the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the University of Central Florida called “MegaWatt Ventures 2013.”
This program promotes the commercialization of renewable energy technologies from innovative Southeastern US entrepreneurs. At the heart of the program is an annual business plan and product prototype competition for 10 companies to compete for $100,000, an invitation to the US DOE National Renewable Energy Lab Growth Forum and additional resources.
MegaWatt Ventures 2013 finalists will receive $10,000 in seed funding, engage with a technical expert and investor network, and attend entrepreneurial education workshops.
Applicants can promote a new idea or one already in the works regarding an innovative energy technology. They must employ a Southeastern US university student (help can be given to identify and find one).
Applications are now available on the website below, and are due March 8, 2013.
